Elder Wirthlin was by far was of my most favorite Apostles of the Church. I think mostly because he reminded me of my own grandfather. I am sad I didn't get to see much of Elder Wirthlin before he passed last year. However, the Church has a new area on YouTube that is Church approved, that has great videos and out-takes from conference and such. I came across this one by Elder Wirthlin of course.
It put so many things in place for me.
People will always have something you want--a better home, car, job, hair, body, kids, husband (or wife), etc. But Heavenly Father gave you specific blessings, whether you accept them or not, or much less--whether you recognize them or not. He endured much more than you and I ever have in this life. We exist on Earth to learn and to be like Him. We received daily trials to make ourselves that much better. Heavenly Father never promised it would be easy in this life and why should it be? That would make our time on Earth boring and we would never learn a thing.
He did promise that if we follow his commandments and do the things he wants us to do that we will have great blessings in store. I was once told by a good friend in our ward this: Read the scriptures and recognize the one line of Jesus asking us to follow a commandment. But then recognize the 4 or 5 lines after each commandment that are full and promised blessings...many blessings for following one simple commandment. How hard is that?
I know it is hard. We have agency and the advarsary that can change our minds and take over us very easily sometimes.
But I think we could all try harder. No one is perfect, that is why we are here. But we can all improve and that is all He wants us to do. Try...
So I hope you laugh the next time someone makes you mad, seek for the eternal, understand the principle of compensation, trust the Lord and come what may and love it.
Here is the link to the video--I hope you all go to watch it.

6 years and counting...
So on this day, 6 years ago, at about this time, Shon and I said "I do"!
What was I thinking?! Oh wait...I mean, what a great decision! :-)
We couldn't be happier...and we can't wait to see what's in store 6 more years from now!
Oh and in case anyone needed reminding...I won the cake fight hands down!
Loves!

Just call me Ms. Pharmacy...
I rarely--seriously RARELY get sick. I get a little cold or sinus infection here or there, but nothing like the last couple of weeks. All the girls at work warned me this was my first year in a pediatrics office so I will get everything. Well I am in the back away from everyone doing my own thing so I didn't think it would be that bad!
Two weeks ago today I got a cough, which turned into bronchitis (never had in my life). So we started cough syrup and an antibiotic and even had a breathing treatment (another first).
So last week, as my cough was getting better, I finished my first dose of antibiotics. But, Wednesday I woke up with a major fever and a migraine. This all started with chills Tuesday night so I never slept. Fever topped off around 103 degrees. So of course I started rotating ibuprofen and tylenol, which didn't work, so I took a really cold bath--yeah that sucked!
So then I started having sinus issues after that, fever coming and going, nausea like no other and of course I am really tired cause I can't sleep. So Dr. Whiting, the doc I work for, prescribed me another dose of antibiotics as he doesn't really think my first dose cut to the chase for me.
Now I am left with a drug rash like no other all over my body! All I wanted was to just stop feeling icky and be able to sleep!
I think I got more than I bargained for...ah well, life goes on.

Spring Cleanin...
So we have been spring cleaning-slowly but surely since I have been sick for a week now. Our computer was kind of apart of the spring cleaning...here are some photos I came across while doing so. We have a fun, strange family...let me tell ya! I adore Shon when he picks his nose!
Shon hearts smoochy lips...so I did it.
Maybe his future is modeling? I will send this in as an application right away!

I think Shon was inpersonating the cat having to mark it's territory???
We lost a tooth!
Losing one of your front teeth is kind of a big deal when you are a kid. Ashton had been working on this tooth since Christmas! It finally came out...now he is working on the other side. Tooth Fairy gave him a whoppin $1 for this guy!
Excuse the blurry photo, I had to use my Palm over my camera cause someone stole my batteries...I think his name is Shon?
